One of Many

Grace draws all the time. I have tons of pictures she's drawn for me. I'm excited to have a scanner now so I can preserve a few choice pictures for years to come. Here is the most recent one. She did this at school in their letter writing center. She's just so sweet.

Dear Santa...

This is a little late, but I just got a scanner so here it is...
These are the letters Grace and Lyla wrote to Santa asking him to send his Elves to our house for the Christmas season. Magically, the elves appeared the next morning! The elves brought their own magic snow and a big poem explaining what they do. The girls were so excited.

Grace's letter says "Please let an elf come to our house forever."

A Sweet Valentine

In school Grace has been writing letters to people. She brought this one home last week before Valentine's Day. It was in an envelope addressed to Lyla. It was so sweet. It says, "Lyla is my sister. She is nice. I love her. from Grace"

A date with Mommy

While Eric took Grace on a date, I took Lyla on a date. She decided our date needed to be at Chuck E. Cheese. On a Friday night! I tried to bribe her with ToysRUs and a restaurant but she wouldn't go for it. So, off we went to Chuck E. Cheese during the busiest time of the week. I circled the building 4 times before finding a parking spot. It took us 30 minutes to get in the door and order a pizza at the counter! Then we had to wait in a line for every game! It was not my idea of fun but Lyla loved it. She didn't care about the massive crowd at all so I tried to chill out and enjoy our time together. We shared a pizza and she ate the same amount of pizza as me! She played games and had a good time. It was nice to spend some one on one time with my little Lyla.

A date with Daddy

Two weeks ago Eric took Grace on a Father/Daughter date. He found out about a Father/Daughter dance that was going to be a the Rec. Center down in Spring Hill. He asked Grace if she wanted to go. She was most excited about the chance to wear her "wedding" dress. The little girls were given a single carnation, the couples were introduced and their pictures were taken. The pictures were really bad though so we didn't get one. I took the pictures below before they left. They didn't go with anyone they knew so I think Eric was a little bored but Grace had fun. She ended up running around with the other little girls I think. It was a sweet thought and I'm glad Eric is building this relationship with his little girl. Little girls need their daddies!

Little Monkey

Lyla can now go all the way across the monkey bars by herself! Eric said she's been able to do it for a while but this was the first time I'd seen her do it. Look at her go!!!

"Let's have a picnic"

Two Mondays ago I was upstairs and the girls were very quiet. That usually means something when it comes to little kids. After a while Reesi came upstairs with 3 apples and started washing them in the bathroom sink. I asked what she was doing and she said they were having a picnic. I immediately knew I better check it out. I went downstairs and they were pulling everything out of the fridge for their picnic. Lyla had about 6 yogurts on the table, a whole container of strawberries, a whole gallon of milk (which they hadn't tried to pour, thank goodness), and several other things. I think Lyla ate about 3 yogurts and Reesi at almost all of the strawberries. At least it was a healthy picnic!
