Eric's latest project

This is Eric's latest project. He took down the ugly fluorescent light and put a new light over the kitchen island. I like the light. It looks much nicer than the fluorescent box! Now, if we can get the hole in the ceiling fixed we'll be good!

Owl's Hill

I went to Owl's Hill with Grace's 1st grade class on Thursday. It's basically a nature preserve, I guess. I'm not sure what you can do there besides have field trips. The kids went inside a little house and listened to a lady tell a story about a native american girl while showing authentic native american artifacts. As they walked out they got to touch a fox skin. Then they were given "power shields". Each power shield had one of 3 symbols on it. This put the kids in three groups. Then they rolled wildflower seeds in a ball of clay because that is how the native americans perserved the seeds during the winter. Then we went on a hike and looked for symbols left by native americans. At the end of the hike, they had a story telling time like the native americans did. It was a beautiful day. I'm glad we had nice weather.

Leaves and skates

We have really pretty leaves on our street every fall. I finally got a couple of pictures of Lyla playing in there. Grace had no interest in the leaves though. She was busy on her new/old skates. My mom brought Grace a pair of skates that belonged to Joni years ago. She loves them! She wants to skate every afternoon and when we can't be out front, she tries to skate in our very, very full garage. I really need to take this girl to the skating rink!

My latest canvas

This is my latest canvas. I did this for a friend who is having her 1st boy. I thought it turned out very nice.

Julie's Shower

Last weekend we had Julie's baby shower at Jason's mom's house. There was a really good turn out of people. She got a lot of very cute stuff. I painted a canvas for the nursery and Joni made a collection of bibs, blankets and burp cloths for Julie. Mom had a bracelet made for Julie that has Easton's name on it. I took a lot of pictures but here are just a few.

Elye's Photo Shoot

Joni, Lyla and I took Elye to downtown Franklin for her 6 month photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. She is such a good little baby. She smiles so easily! It's great for picture taking. Her mohawk hairdo is so funny too. Joni made the dress and I think the pictures turned out pretty good. Lyla kept wanting to take pictures too. So I let her snap a couple of pictures. They're at the bottom. She took the one of Joni and Elye and the two of me. I do not like the ones of me, of course, but I'm including them anyway. Lyla was telling us what kind of faces to make.

Halloween

We spent Halloween night at Joni's house. Julie and Jason came down too. The girls were excited to go trick or treating...again. We definitely didn't need more candy, but, you can't skip trick or treating in the neighborhood. So, we headed out. Poor Reesi fell at the 3rd house we went too. She seems to fall every year! Joni had to carry her bucket the rest of the night. We made chili and hung out together after trick or treating. Lyla was Peter Pan, Grace was Wendy and Reesi was a rock star. Elye was a ghost with a tutu skirt. It's nice to live close enough to do these things together.
