Grace's First Soccer Practice

Last week Grace had her first soccer practice. She's so excited about this new activity. She's never played before but she's very excited to learn. So the first practice was very exciting. She did everything the coach told her to do. They did drills and exercises and "played" against each other. It was very cute. They actually looked like little soccer players. Most of the girls on her team go to her school and live in our neighborhood. The practices are within walking distance from our house too. Living in a large neighborhood has its benefits!

Anyway, the practice went very well. The funny part was the next morning. Before school she kept rubbing her belly and telling me her belly hurt. I asked if she needed to go potty. I asked if it itched, did she need lotion. She said no to both questions. She said it wasn't a tummy ache but it wasn't on the skin on the outside either. I couldn't figure out what it was. I put lotion and hydracortizone on her belly! I told Eric about it later that day and he immediately said, "She's sore from soccer practice." Ohhhhhh! Of course! Why didn't I think of that? How funny! She was sore from exercising!

Lyla is very into the soccer stuff too. We had to buy her little cleats to wear just like Grace's. Luckily, they're not very expensive. Lyla took her ball to Grace's practice too. She ran that ball all around by herself. She's definitely going to be a sporty little girl! Go Lyla!
