Hunter's Bend Hound Dog Hoe Down

Every fall the girls' school has a Hound Dog Hoedown. It's their version of a fall festival. It's a fundraiser for the school and a fun night for the kids. They have silent auction items, food and games for the kids. There are traditional fall festival type games as well as big jumpy things. These were the only pictures I took that night. It was a "bull" in a blow up ring. Lyla stood in line for about 30 minutes to ride this thing. She never fell off either! She's a stubborn little thing.
I didn't really have much to take pictures of that night because Grace would NOT stay with us! She's growing up. She officially chose friends over family that night. She was so excited to find her friends. At the end of the night they were both begging us moms for a sleepover. It's so cute to see her make good friends but it's also a little sad. It makes me sad every time something like this happens and she pulls a little farther away. I pray that she picks good friends and that God blesses those little relationships.

Little Lyla hasn't really found a "bff" yet. She says she just swings by herself on the playground, which makes me a little sad, but she doesn't seemed bothered by it. She does has a little friend that she sits with on the bus. We had her over to play one afternoon. I ask her why she doesn't play with her on the playground and Lyla just says, "I want to swing and she doesn't". Well, ok then. When I told her teacher (which happens to be Grace's kindergarten teacher too) that Lyla says she hasn't made any friends, she laughed. She said, "Lyla said she doesn't have friends? Lyla talks to everybody." I think Lyla just means she hasn't found a "best friend." She still says Fordie is her best friend. Ms. Heim also said, "Your girls are very different." and "She's got spunk." Yep, I think she knows my girls!

It was interesting to read about Lyla's friend situation. Jackson still talks about his friends at HH! He swings by himself on the playground, too. I guess it just takes some time to find those "best friends."
