Our Elves

Our elves weren't here for very long, but they had some fun while they were.

They had an epic pirate battle...

They played Playstation...

They rode around in the Mystery Machine....
And that was about it! Short and sweet.

Life Group Christmas

We had our Life Group Christmas party at Joni's house this year. Lyla took this picture of us. I thought it was pretty good. Unfortunately, Joni was putting Elye to bed when we took it and she didn't want us to do it over just for her. We are blessed to have great friends in our life group and we cherish our time with them. A few nights later, we got together with friends from our past life group. We ate yummy food and walked to Lipscomb to see their Christmas lights. The girls rode in these fun riding toys. Lyla asked for one of these Lightning cars all season from Santa. Santa did not bring her one this year. Hopefully, she's not too disappointed. She hasn't even mentioned at this point so I think we're OK. She would have loved it though. Anyway, we had a good time with these sweet friends too. I wish I would have gotten a group picture that night.

THE TRAMPOLINE!!!!

Grace and Lyla have two elves that come to visit each year before Christmas. This year the girls kept forgetting to write a letter to Santa asking for their elves to come. So, the Friday before Christmas I had the girls write their letter. The next morning we couldn't find the elves but there was a note from them on the table. Evidently, Santa wanted to give the girls a trampoline this year but it was not going to fit on his sleigh on Christmas Eve. So, he sent it with his elves that night. Below is Grace's note to Santa and then the note the elves left the next morning.

So, we went outside to find the elves. One was in the driver's seat of the van "driving" and the other one was in the back trying to lift the big box. The girls were really excited. They were a little stunned I think. The hard part was not being able to jump immediately though. Eric and I then spent the majority of the day putting the trampoline up. It was about 32 degrees outside and misting rain. It was freezing! But, after about a total of 4 hours, the trampoline was ready for jumping. The girls were very patient waiting for us to finish. They just played and watched cartoons inside. They did keep opening the windows to yell at us and ask if we were almost done. They love it! I'm hoping this will provide lots of entertainment for a long time to come! Of course, they were doing front flips within about 30 minutes! Please pray for no broken bones!
Joni and Reesi came over the next day. I had Reesi for a few hours before Joni got there. The 3 girls stayed outside on the trampoline for the entire time! Joni got on immediately and tried to jump them as high as she could.

Grace's 1st grade Christmas Party

This was Grace's class Christmas party. They played a game where they split up into 4 teams. Then 1 member of the team was the "tree". The other members decorated the tree. It was a pretty cute little game. They also had a craft and yummy treats.

One little tidbit...Grace is wearing my t-shirt! Can you believe she can wear some of my clothes? The shirt was too tight on me but still, I can't believe my baby is big enough to wear my clothes!

Big Helper

Lyla likes to spray things. When I'm cleaning that is the part she wants to do. Spray the dust spray, kitchen counter spray, window spray, etc. I convinced her that in order to spray the spray, she had to be willing to do the wiping too. So, she cleaned the windows on the inside and outside of this door. I love it when they feel like cleaning!

Preschool Christmas Program

This year Lyla would not tell me what songs she was going to be singing in the Christmas program at preschool. She really likes surprises. She kept telling me that I would "just have to wait". It was very cute. Lyla's feet aren't in the

Santa

Sitting on Santa's lap is a holiday tradition. Santa always visits Phil and Melissa Roe's house from church and all of the Harpeth Hills kiddos are invited to come. There are lots of goodies to eat and plenty of time to visit with Santa. This year, the girls wore their holiday jammies. Lyla's jammies have/had a gingerbread girl on them with a pink bow in it's hair. She made me change it so there was no pink on it anywhere. Thank goodness she likes red!
