Last week Joni told Larry that she was going to schedule a 3 month photo shoot with a photographer for Elye. He said we bought the nice camera so we wouldn't have to pay a photographer any more. Our cameras are very nice and they take great pictures but it takes more than a nice camera to produce photographer quality pictures! I've definitely learned that!
Lighting has so much to do with the quality of a picture as well as the settings on the camera. I've learned some but I still can't get the quality photographs that I want. Joni and I set up a photo shoot to see if we could produce acceptable 3 month pictures for Elye Kate. The pictures are OK but they don't look like a "real" photographer took them. I don't know if it is because of the lighting or my camera settings or my lack of photo editing software. It is very frustrating.
There is a local couple that are photographers that are really good. Their website is www.grayphotograph.com. They have a workshop coming up at the end of August that I'd really like to go to but it's $200! I wish I knew if a workshop like that would teach me enough to make a difference in my photography.
Anyway, here are some of the better pictures that I ended up with of Elye Kate. If anyone has any comments about the pictures please leave them. I would love to hear your reaction to these pictures.

Honestly, I think the pictures are great and very much like a "professional" photographer. I think it would make a difference if you had them developed with a "professional" developer instead of at a place like Costco. That has been my experience. We use Wendy and her pics are good with her recommended developer, but not when I take them to Costco.
Sorry so long! Just my thoughts...
