Our trip to Rogersville, MO

450 pictures...that's how many new pictures are on my computer after our trip to visit my grandparents in Missouri! That is the combined total from my camera and Joni's camera though. I only ended up with about 250 pictures of my own. What do we do with that many pictures? How can there be that much to take pictures of? I don't know, but we did it and I can't delete them. They're all good too. There was so much to do and so many fun times that we just kept snapping away.

We rented a 15 passenger van so we could all ride together. It was my parents, me, my girls, Joni and her girls and Julie. The husbands stayed home this year. We took off in the big van only to discover that it shook violently when you drove over 45 miles an hour! So right off the bat we were delayed. We had to turn around and go back to Enterprise to get a new van. After unloading and reloading the van and all the carseats we were finally off, only an hour later than anticipated! The man at Enterprise told my dad he'd be praying for him since he was driving for the next 9 hours with a van full of women! The drive was actually very nice though. Elye Kate did wonderfully and never cried! The 3 big girls did great too. They stayed occupied with the DVD player and Mimi feeding them snacks the whole day. We made good time and only stopped 3 times I think. The ride back was good too until the last little bit. Right as we were getting to Nashville we ran into traffic from a wreck that delayed us about an hour and half. That put a damper on the mood in the van but we finally made it back safe and sound.

My grandparents live on a farm where they used to milk cows and have pigs and chickens too. Now there are only dogs and horses and cats. My uncle Kendall lives right next door, which is very nice because the kids could just run back and forth. We spent our time chatting, chasing the kids and eating. It wasn't a great trip for the waistline but it was worth it! I've posted several posts that show some of the pictures from the trip and tell a few stories. I think Joni and I are going to put the pictures in a Blurb book for everyone. They're just too good to not do anything with. We made some great memories and we're looking forward to next year's trip already!
